We have recently expanded the range of services with up-to-date models and techniques to study the interactions between human cells, food ingredients, botanicals and probiotic bacteria. We also decided to accredit this part of our activities according to ISO 17025, in order to ensure our customers an innovative and even more guaranteed service for their R&D. AAT is currently the only laboratory in Europe to have accredited this type of tests.
Probiotics and human cells: how do they interact?
The way probiotics benefit the host organism is closely linked to the interaction that the bacterial cell establishes with the host.
Microorganism's genus, its metabolic effect, the immunomodulation that it is able to create in the organism and the competition with pathogens are just some of the variables involved and models created to study these dynamics are very diverse.
Cellular response models in pathological conditions
Thanks to our expertise, we can recreate models capable of representing the reactions of the various cellular districts of the human organism to contact with bacteria: depending on a healthy condition or a pathological state, the response of the organism may in fact be different.
